In 28th of November 1984 Usak Organized Industrial Area Association was established with the collaboration of Usak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), Special Provincial Administration and Usak Municipality through application of UCCI in 1984.
Usak OIA has been established on 378,20 hectare area and 14-18th km of Usak-Izmir road. It was put out tender in 9th of October 1987 under the responsibility of Association and credit assistance of Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Substructure was completed in short time and first company started to production in 1990 in area. Today Usak OIA is 680 ha.

Usak Mixed Organized Industrial Area (UMOIA)
Usak Organized Leather Industrial Area Association was established in 19th of January 1988 through the collaboration of Usak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI), Special Provincial Administration, Usak Municipality and Tanner Craftsman’s Association. Substructure works of area were started in 5th of September 1995 and building lands were started to allocate to industrialists through road constructions were completed within 7 months.
Usak MOIA was established on the roadside of Usak-Denizli highway and 264,17 hectare area. In area there are parcels between 2.000 and 40.000 m2 sizes and these parcels have been allocated to 329 entrepreneurs.
Waste water treatment system, what prevents pollution of environment and agricultural area and it has capacities of 24.000 m3/day and 36.000 m3/day, was completed and put into service in 29th of November 2005.
According to 5084 and 5350 numbered laws 109,79 hectare area has been allocated to 158 entrepreneurs in UMOIA.

THE UNIVERSITY OF USAK
Usak, where completed its deficiencies in substructure and industrial fields, has retrieved its university that Usak has looked forward for years. The university named University of Usak in 17th of March 2006 started to education as a department of University of Afyon Kocatepe in 1993 with its teacher’s college, engineering department, health occupation high school and vocational high schools of Usak, Banaz, Esme, Karahalli. In 1995 vacation high school of Ulubey, in 1998 vacation high school of Sivasli, in 2002 faculty of science and letters and in 2002 school of economics and administrative sciences were opened.
Today there are 7.200 students, 5 professors, 2 docents, 56 assistant docents, 56 lecturers, 21 assistant, 2 instructors and 2 specialists in University.
Skilled labor problem has been solved and R&D (Research and Development) has picked up through integration of university and industry. Usak makes progress more and more through positive and important developments in education, culture and art fields.
