Usak is a gate between Aegean and Central Anatolia Areas. Its land looks like a plateau.
Its altitude is 906 m, area is 5.341 km2. Hot climate of Aegean Area and biting cold of Central Anatolia do not effect the city through its position in a crossing point. Hottest month is June and coldest month is February. Average temperature of city is 20.6 C. Annual precipitation is 464 mm/m2 and average relative humidity is 66%.
Banaz and Gediz Streams tributaries of Big Menderes are important rivers of Usak. Highest place of the city is Elinoglu Hill (1.387 m) some parts of Murat Mountain 2.309 m are in city limits.

RAILWAY:
The railway of the city has been made up of two parts as Izmir-Usak and Usak-Afyon.
Izmir-Usak part is 287 km and Usak-Afyon is 135 km. Goods trains ply 3 times in a day. More ceramic sector has grown up and more goods trains have become important. Almost whole railroad freight transportation consists of ceramic products. Goods are delivered to destination within 2 or 5 days according to distance.
ROAD:
State highway E96 passes from the city center. This big road ties Aegean and Central Anatolia Areas. Coach station is near of the Izmir-Usak road and in the city center. All coaches, what they go to Central, East and Southeast Anatolia and Black Sea areas from Izmir also come to Izmir from these areas, pass from Usak.

There are scheduled flights on Monday, Friday, Saturday from Usak to Istanbul and on Sunday, Thursday and Friday from Istanbul to Usak.
